BBSO Top Ten Winner

In February, I competed in Baylor University’s prestigious Baylor Business Selling Outside (BBSO) Competition, placing 8th out of 162 competitors, which included both individual and team entries from the Professional Selling program. This in-person sales role-play challenged us to sell BMC Software’s Human Resources Service Management (HRSM) solution to real executives — simulating a realistic, high-stakes B2B sales environment.

Judged by 165 business professionals and executives from across the country, the BBSO tested our ability to understand technical products, ask strategic questions, and clearly connect customer pain points with product value. I had the opportunity to present to executives from BMC, Baylor ProSales’ Platinum Elite partner, and received direct feedback on my performance.

Placing in the top 10 was not only an honor, but a confirmation that I can perform under pressure and deliver compelling solutions in real-world sales conversations. This experience deepened my understanding of consultative selling and reinforced my love for building value through authentic, purpose-driven conversations.
